On the day before (Saturday),the SOU 6147 FP7A and its mate SOU 6141 had taken a round-trip excision from Charlotte to Asheville that I rode with my nephew. Later in the day that I shot this the pair would do a one-way movement to Greensboro to reposition their passenger consist for upcoming excursions in Virginia. SOU 6147 B/D 11/50, BN 12343. 58:19 gearing. Re# 3499 12/6/1983. Retired 4/20/1988. Shortly after sold to New Georgia RR. |
